Our health and wellness coaches are certified professionals who will help you outline and reach your health goals. While you will set your own goals, and ultimately be charged with meeting them, health and wellness coaches can give you the tools and strategies to help you be successful. Health and wellness coaching is included as part of your community membership.

Health Coaching Rates (included for members)

  • Initial consult: $100
  • 60 minute appointments: $70
  • 30 minute appointments: $35

Coaching for WMC Employees

All employees and spouses who have the hospital's health insurance are eligible to receive health and wellness coaching at no cost if they participated in the annual Wellness Matters Biometric Screen. Contact the Wellness Center at (307) 577-2868 for more information.

Prevent T2: Diabetes Prevention Program

This is a national, evidence-based diabetes prevention program developed by the Center for Disease Control. It uses a lifestyle-based curriculum aimed at reversing the start of the disease by empowering patients with prediabetes to take charge of their health and well-being.

In the program, clients meet with a certified health coach in a group setting according to the following schedule:

  • Weekly for four months
  • Every other week for two months
  • Monthly for six months

At the group sessions, clients will learn to incorporate healthy eating, physical activity, problem solving, stress-reduction and coping skills into their daily lives. Clients are eligible for the program based on the Prediabetes Risk Test or qualifying lab results. Please contact us at the NERD Health & Wellness Center for more information, 577-2929.

Introductory price is $75 for the 12-month program.

Our health and wellness coaches are certified through Real Balance Global Wellness Services, Inc. They are registered nurses trained to work with people ready to make a healthy lifestyle change.

Amanda Schulte Beyeler

Amanda is a registered nurse and is completing her certification as a health and wellness coach through Real Balance.

Before joining the team at the NERD Health and Wellness Center, she worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings within Wyoming Medical Center.

Before earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Wyoming, she completed a year of service with AmeriCorps in Austin, Texas. She also has a degree in Interdisciplinary Humanities from Michigan State University.

She enjoys listening to NPR, exploring new books in the nonfiction section of the library, and spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their two daughters.

Kristen Mockler

Kristen is a certified health and wellness coach, personal trainer and fitness instructor.

She has been a health coach with ACE Fitness for three years; a personal trainer, fitness and yoga instructor for four years; and a wellness advocate for life.

She has an Associate of Science degree in nutrition from Casper College is working on a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in organizational leadership through the University of Wyoming. She is also completing her Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certification through the Nutrition Therapy Institute.

Kristen enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family and young son.

Megan Zaharas

Megan is a certified health and wellness coach and certified prevention specialist. She has worked in the field of substance abuse, chronic disease and suicide prevention since 2011.

Her passion for helping others achieve optimal well-being led her to the field of health and wellness coaching. She rejoined the team at the NERD Health and Wellness Center in 2017.

Megan has a master's degree in healthcare administration and a bachelor's in exercise physiology from the University of Wyoming. If she is not in the outdoors hiking or snowshoeing, you can find her at a music concert or spending quality time with her family.

Kristen Anthony

Kristen is a registered nurse and a certified health and wellness coach. She has been with Wyoming Medical Center since 2006.

She has worked in the inpatient setting on the Progressive Care Unit, Cardiac Cath Lab and currently works on the Outpatient Unit. She loves patient care and has found a new passion for helping others achieve their health goals at the NERD Health and Wellness Center.

Kristen graduated from Natrona County High School in 2000 and Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2004.

She enjoys spending her free time camping, fishing or skiing with her family.

Healthy U - An Evidenced-base Health Empowerment Program

Developed by the Stanford School of Medicine, Healthy U is designed to help anyone over the age of 18 play an active and productive role in their own health management. Anyone is welcome to participate; those who suffer from one or more chronic health conditions will find Healthy U particularly useful. Caregivers and friends of those who would benefit from health self-management also make great participants.

At the end of the six-session program, participants will be taught:

  • Techniques to deal with problems like frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation
  • Appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility and endurance
  • Appropriate use of medications
  • Communicating effectively with family, friends and health professionals
  • Nutrition
  • Decision-making
  • How to evaluate new treatments

Class details and attendance:

  • $60 class fee; for each class attended you earn $10 back to total $60
  • Scholarship fund available
  • 6 classes over 6 weeks
  • 2.5 hours per class
  • 8-18 participants per class
  • Workbook and relaxation CD available for check-out to use during class

Workshops are participative, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active, fulfilling lives. Those who have participated in this program demonstrate a significant improvement in exercise, cognitive symptom management, communication with physicians, self-reported general health, health distress, fatigue, disability and social/role activities limitations. They also spend fewer days in the hospital and tend toward fewer outpatient visits and hospitalizations.
